Our own documents, and the research behind them.
This page collects everything The Neighbour’s Table publishes and everything we rely on: our own documents, and the research that supports the case we make.
Our own material is the policy documents that govern this site and the organization. Season reports will be added once a full season of chapter records exists. The research is public and named: Second Harvest and Value Chain Management International on food waste, PROOF at the University of Toronto on household food insecurity, Food Banks Canada and Feed Ontario on food bank use, Statistics Canada on what the country grows, and the UN Environment Programme on waste and emissions.
Every figure used anywhere on this site comes from one of those sources, is quoted at the number the source published, and is attributed where it appears. Nothing here is our own estimate.
Sourced, dated, linked.
