News
Updates, field notes, research, and the sources behind them.
News from chapters will appear here once chapters are approved and reporting. Until then, this section carries the research behind our work.
Updates will report what approved chapters have done, set against their records. Field notes set out how a chapter works: the farm list, the one question and the record. Research collects the published studies behind the numbers used across the site, each one named and linked so anyone can check it.
Statistics quoted in any piece here come from a short approved list: Food Banks Canada on food bank use, PROOF at the University of Toronto on food insecurity, Environment and Climate Change Canada and Second Harvest with Value Chain Management International on waste, and Statistics Canada on farms.
Everything here is sourced.
