Sustainability

Three UN goals, and the one we exist to serve.

Our work sits under three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Goal 12 is the one this organization exists to serve. Goal 2 and Goal 13 follow from it.

Target 12.3 commits the world to halving per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels by 2030, and to reducing food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses. The second limb is ours. Produce that never leaves the farm it grew on is a loss along the supply chain. Our part is to ask farms about it and hand every yes to an organization that collects it.

Food sent to landfill fed nobody and warmed the planet on the way out. That is why one yes serves three goals at once, and why we state all three rather than choosing the most convenient one.

Target 12.3 is ours.

Zero Hunger

Goal 2 commits the world to ending hunger and ensuring access by all people to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round. 24.0% of people in Canada lived in a food-insecure household in 2025, about 9.8 million people. PROOF, University of Toronto, 2026.
