Why students run this

Run by students, at their own schools.

Andrew Adair is the Founder of The Neighbour’s Table. Every chapter is run by its own students, and that is deliberate.

Students have the two things this work needs. The first is reach: a school sits inside an area, and the farms in that area are within writing distance of a room that already meets every week. The second is time that repeats. A chapter meets on the same day, at lunch, with the same named roles, and a farm list that gets longer each session. A Teacher Advisor at the school is copied on every message.

Members hold real responsibility: Chapter Lead, Deputy Lead, Outreach Editor, List Builder, Follow-up Clerk and Records and Hours Clerk. They are unpaid and this is a standing weekly session, not a one-off shift. The work is checked, logged and handed on.

Students run all of it.
